Privacy

Hakone Kanagawa has no accounts and no advertising trackers. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as your IP address) to serve and protect the site. Cloudflare Web Analytics also measures page views and page load speed without cookies, using the page address, the referring page and your browser details.

We use Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool that uses no cookies. To count unique visits it processes your IP address and browser details to make a rotating identifier and an approximate location; it does not store your IP address, and it ignores URL query strings. It counts page views and clicks on booking links and the contact form, and it turns off when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. Changing the identifier does not delete visit records already collected; they are kept under the retention settings of our Umami server until we delete them.

If you use the contact form, your name, email address and message are emailed to us so we can reply, and are not used for anything else.

We use Sentry to catch errors on this site. Error reports carry technical details about the page and browser, not your name or contact details.

When you follow a link to a booking partner, that partner and Travelpayouts (our affiliate network) may set cookies to credit the booking. Their own privacy policies apply on their sites.

Maps on our pages load only when you press the map button. The map then comes from Google Maps or OpenStreetMap, whose own privacy policies apply. Map links open the map app or site you choose.
